- 1 C apple cider vinegar
- 1 C packed brown sugar
- 1 C ketchup
- ½ C chili sauce
- ½ C Worcestershire sauce
- ½ small onion (finely chopped)
- 2 T lemon juice
- 1 tsp dry mustard
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 dash cayenne pepper (optional)
Method:
- Combine all ingredients in sauce pot; bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for about one hour, 2 hours if you like a thicker richer sauce. Stir occasionally.
For Smokey Sauce add a few drops of liquid smoke.
